String Magic

There's something about the guitar or a violin, music you can just carry around with you, everywhere you go. Think of John Denver singing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy," using nothing but a violin for music, or perhaps "Country Roads" with just a single guitar. And when you're playing with others and everyone's music aligns with just the right timing, there's something beautiful in the sole focus and purpose of that moment. It resonates in the floors, walls, instruments and hearts of everyone participating. Just being in the presence of good people and good friends playing together, making the kind of art that you have to be present in that very moment to enjoy. It's much
more alive than paint, chalk, or sculpture. It's actually living, in the real world, in the here and now, while we can. Don't miss it!

Musical Puppies

Musical instruments are like puppies at the pound, longing to be picked up, held, and played with. It's torturous to think of someone leaving a puppy in a cage or an instrument left untouched in it's box collecting dust. They need to be taken out to play. At the end of the day, you can see the puppies staring out the window as you walk. Don't just walk by, pretending you don't feel it too. Stop and help these puppies find a home, where people will take care of them, play them, and share the music with other real living people. Especially if you know someone who's lost in a video game 24/7, with a serious vitamin D deficiency, and has lost the ability to talk or interact with other humans.
That's a person who needs a musical instrument, a hobby that will be good for them now and in the future. Whether in social situations, something to do with friends, or maybe just for stress management, music is good for you and best when you're involved in actually making it!

Sometimes people think the Madison Historic District, also known as Historic Madison, is located in Milton Kentucky, but we are actually located just one mile north in Downtown Madison Indiana across the Harrison Bridge, on the other side of the Ohio River.
